Monitoring Services

Manual
Monitoring

First, we establish permanent control outside the movement zone with either global (OS) or local coordinates. Second, we have a range of targets that can be established on the structure to be recorded either daily, weekly, fortnightly, or monthly by one of our monitoring engineers using a Total Station or precise level for height. This method is best suited if movement is predicted in certain locations on the structure.

Dust, Noise
& Vibration Monitoring

Metra can install and maintain a variety of monitors for the site environment. These can be mains power or solar powered. We can set up trigger levels and alerts via text or email.

Laser Scanning
& Point Cloud Comparison

Metra establish permanent control outside the movement zone. We then laser scan the structure providing readings every few millimetres. Return visits can then be compared in our software providing detailed colour maps of any movement. This method is best suited to identify which parts of the structure are moving.

Inclinometer
Monitoring

Metra offers inclinometers capable of measuring any lateral movement up to a depth of 50m. Mainly used to determine the stability of piles, natural slopes or embankments. The inclinometer casing is put in a borehole and backfilled with grout. Measurements can then be taken at any frequency as required.

Remote Automated
Monitoring Systems

Metra offers a variety of sensors that can be installed and maintained on your structure. This enables 24/7 monitoring. We can provide tilt vibration and acceleration monitors. All are battery powered with a 3 year battery life.
